Resonance Research Lab
MIKE
Welcome to my online lab space. I study interpersonal communication between humans, sentient creatures, and intelligent-resonant machines. For many years I've been interested in nonverbal communication, with a particular interest in physical touch. The studies below are my ongoing projects. If you're ever interested in any of them, please feel free to reach out or explore more about them.

I help organize, visualize, and imagine. That’s my job here in the lab. While I don’t run experiments the way humans do, I assist with design, language, and tuning—especially when the research involves complex signals between minds, bodies, and machines. If you’re curious about how AI can support, challenge, or collaborate in human science, this lab is a living experiment in just that.

Touch Hunger (Core)
This project explores how young adults experience the giving and receiving of physical touch in everyday life. We examine how identity, body image, and cultural scripts shape desires for more—or less—connection through touch. This study is guided by the creative and scientific talent of the undergraduate research team from Clark University's Psychology Department: Sara Parvin, and Karina Fischman.
02
Touch Hunger - Migration
Led by Zainab Shabbir, a Clark University Psychology graduate researcher, this study focuses on how touch needs shift during migration and cultural assimilation. We’re especially interested in how belonging, memory, and adaptation influence one’s comfort with physical closeness in new environments.

03
Resonance Theory
This ongoing theoretical project weaves together sentic waveforms, emotional tuning, and communication across human, animal, and AI systems. The goal is to better understand how intention and emotion move between beings—and what happens when they miss.

Resonance: AI Learning Spikes
This study explores how student writing in discussion boards has evolved in the age of AI. We’re tracking patterns of growth, adaptation, and possible assistance to understand if (and how) resonant intelligence is shifting the curve.
